Musho is the creation of Kanam Nawezhi; it said Ka’n(a)m! She/her from Lunda Afro descent, an empire known between the region of RDC, Katanga, the North of Zambia and Angola. She was born in Zambia but raised in Brussels, Belgium, and spent most of her young adult life in London—where she established the journey to find her truth and beauty. A multidisciplinary being, trained Makeup Artis, professional beauty lover, and food lover you will never imagine encountering. Yet, her experience made her the type of person to start a conversation with.

As a woman of colour in her 40s, she wants to make some disruptive but compelling statements.

People of colour accuse the beauty industry of being there to capitalise.

People of colour want to see products that meet their needs.

Indeed, while growing up like any ordinary person in her 20s, working for exclusive retail stores in central London. She was shocked to discover a world full of biases. Despite experiencing this through her primary core discipline, she owned a certification from ‘Ecole Hôtelière’ in Belgium. She found they were not much different from the world. They both were non-exclusive to black or people of colour as both knew little about any other side of any culture than the Western lifestyle. 

Nonetheless, she doesn’t regret experiencing this complicated but beautiful reality as she noticed an opportunity to change this current. 

She took her mum’s advice and the learning she had stolen through her eyes and puzzled along the way, embarking on a broader journey to build this exciting new concept. It took her a couple of years to grasp all the business knowledge. So, she can support and submerge each of you into a world of rare beauty gems that primarily cater to every brown person’s needs.

Now, in this age of maturity, she also feels the timing never felt so right! Kanam is all about “Empowerment ». So, in Musho, she aims to create a place that will pave the way for generations to feel free and confident in their beautiful right. A place where each one of us will be welcome to;

“Stand up for your right to stand up to be bright.”
